Unknown Grapes: Aglianico


Away from all the hype of northern and central Italy, the reds of the south offer much more value, if not flavour. Near the slopes of Mt. Vulture and its volcano, the provinces of Campania and Basilicata offer an incredible red wine of DOCG status made with Aglianico grapes. Unknown Grapes: Xinomavro


I know, I know. French and Italian grapes are hard enough to pronounce, so how are you supposed to figure out Xinomavro? Adventurers are always rewarded, and wine is no exception.
